Horace H.B. Sanders Wins Comedian Final
Detroit funnyman Horace H.B. Sanders won the Tournament 2 Comedian Final, complete with the Grand Prize of $100,000 plus a CBS development deal and a guest-starring role on a CBS show. Performing first in the category was Robert Rothstein from Columbia, South Carolina, with a laid-back observational routine. Horace was up next, and his cell phone jokes prompted Ben Stein to remark, "Anybody who can come up with a new gag about the phone company is aces in my book!" All four judges gave Horace a perfect score, and when the round was over, Horace was ahead with 20 stars.

The home audience agreed with the judges' decision, and with 39 stars, Horace H.B. Sanders won the STAR SEARCH Tournament 2 Comedian Final and walks away with $100,000, a CBS development deal and a guest-starring role on a CBS show.

While most comedians dream of having a perfect set, Horace Sanders actually did; and he has the 'stars' to prove it. The Detroit native became the CBS Star Search Comedy Champion with a perfect score of 20 stars from the celebrity judges. Combined with 19 stars from the live home audience, he received the highest total in the show's history also grabbing the $100,000 and a development deal for his own sit-com.

Horace Sanders received his comedic break while studying at The University of Michigan. Performing in a variety of venues (colleges, churches, clubs, charity events, etc.) helped to develop his versatility and style. This soon led to appearances with notable entertainers such as Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, LeAnn Rimes, Michael Jackson, Chris Tucker and the legendary Bill Cosby.

Formerly co-host of the "Morning Show" in Detroit on KISS 102.7 FM, Horace has been featured on CTN Live, The Comcast Comedy Hour, BET Comic View and Comedy Central. While completing an international tour as the opening act for Sinbad, he hosted the 2003 BET broadcast of the Savoy Soul Beach Music Festival in Aruba and in 2004. In June of 2004, Horace Sanders performed along with Steve Harvey, J. Anthony Brown and Sinbad before an estimated 80,000 at Bishop T.D. Jakes' Mega-Fest in Atlanta, GA. Horace also starred in "FUNNY," a film exploring the world of stand-up comedy, which was released in Summer 2004.
